Season’s Greetings!  This year is bittersweet, as we face our last December  with you.  Since our first newsletter back in 2010—until now—we have been partners together in this effort for 14 years.  That’s truly amazing, and yet how the years have flown by!

In this final SITREP of the year, our hearts are full.  We are thankful for each and every one of you, for the myriad ways you support us and this mission.  However, before we bid adieu to 2024, we have a few heartfelt messages.

First, please take a moment to view our Director’s final video message.  While three months still remain to support your official commemorative events, this will be our last direct video from Maj. Gen. Ed Chrystal, U.S. Army.  A short 97-seconds, it is an earnest note of gratitude as we wind down this Commemoration.
Calendar Graphic of December Key Date
 Second, a few key reminders:
  • December 31  is the last day to join  us as a Commemorative Partner.  As of January 1, we will no longer be accepting applications.  Submit those applications, so you can request the free materials you need to support your events for 2025;
  • March 15  is the last day  Event Requests (DD2956) will be accepted through our Partner Portal to order materials or support  from us; and
  • March 31  will be the final day to host  your events with our support.
Next, we are mindful that long after our office is gone,
the need to thank and honor our Vietnam veterans and their families will continue!  Your efforts have made a meaningful difference in many hearts and lives, and have resulted in more than 300 thousand  being recognized in 2024, and 4.1 million  since we began.  That’s incredible, but now we are asking all Americans to carry on the torch:  whenever you see themthank them!  Welcome them home, thank them for their service and thank their families for their sacrifice.  They deserve to know they have earned the Nation’s humble thanks.

Finally, as we close out this year, enjoy our interactive wish to you and yours, from our entire staff (above)Happy Holidays, and stay tuned as we ring in the New Year and look forward to 2025!
