Troops of the U.S. 101St Airborne Division Arrive in Vietnam

The 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, arrives in Vietnam. The brigade is based near Cam Ranh Bay, on the coast of central South Vietnam. Its initial mission is to protect the port facilities and bases in the region from attack by Viet Cong insurgents.1
