The 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment “Blackhorse” arrives in Vietnam. It is equipped with light tanks, self-propelled howitzers, helicopters, and armored personnel carriers for use in the open terrain of III Corps. The 11th is one of only a few large U.S. armored cavalry units to fight in the war.1
