The United States establishes Naval Forces Vietnam, which is responsible for U.S. Navy units in II, III, and IV Corps as well as Naval Support Activity, Saigon; the Military Sea Transportation Service; Coast Guard Activities, Vietnam; and other elements. Naval Forces Vietnam also takes over responsibility for Operations MARKET TIME and GAME WARDEN.1
