South Vietnamese troops recapture Quang Tri City, just south of the DMZ, from the North Vietnamese army. U.S. Marine Corps combat troops and advisers; Army aviators; and Navy crews all provide significant support during the fight to retake the city, which was overrun early in the Easter Offensive. The conclusion of the battle marks the end of over four months of North Vietnamese occupation.1
