Commemoration Branding

On all of our products, you will notice two ribbons in the upper left corner of the page. The National Defense Service Ribbon is awarded to service members who serve during specific times of conflict, regardless of location of service. Below the National Defense Service Ribbon is the Vietnam Service Ribbon awarded to service members who served in Vietnam or in nearby theater of operations during a very specific time period. We chose this design to remember that while we recognize the difference between those who served in theater and those who were ordered elsewhere, all who served during that tumultuous time deserve to be recognized, regardless of the location of service. It is important to also note that while everyone who has been awarded one or both of these ribbons is eligible for the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin, not everyone who is eligible for the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin has been awarded these medals.
