Events

A time-honored tradition passed down from generations of mariners and navies around the world, the 23 annual Blessing of the Fleets will take place at the United States Memorial on Saturday, April 12, 2014. As a highlight of the National Cherry Blossom Festival-the nation's largest springtime celebration, the event is free and open to the public and will begin at 1pm, immediately following the Festival Parade.

Children from several school districts will participate in the Art Contest on "Thanking a Vietnam Vet". We will be contacting local veterans organizations and ask that Vietnam Vets help judge the contests and share the art with their families and friends.

This is the William Bethall DAR county-wide meeting to discuss future events. The materials will also be displayed at the Eden Historical Museum after the event.

Blue Star Salute Foundation has been asked to participate in this event to honor and recognize our Veterans. The American Legion is having their annual open house and bike run. Vietnam Veterans will comprise a majority of the riders.
