To thank and honor Vietnam Veterans.

Dates for the 2014 Department of New York Convention are April 24-27, 2014 -- Executive Board Meeting is Thursday, April 24 and Board Meeting and Convention are tentatively planned for Friday-Sunday, April 25-27 in Saratoga Springs NY

The Illiinois Daughters will hold a State Conference in April 2014. I would like a keynote speaker to address our group at our National Defense Night. Please be assured that we, the Daughters of the American Revolution will carry the banner for our forgotten Hero's as we Celebrate America.

Commemorative Objective 1: To honor and thank Vietnam Veterans and families.

Children from several school districts will participate in the Art Contest on "Thanking a Vietnam Vet". We will be contacting local veterans organizations and ask that Vietnam Vets help judge the contests and share the art with their families and friends.

ISDAR during the state conference will have a booth set up to honor POWs / MIAs who served during Vietnam.

Amtrak Veterans hiring initiative, honoring all veterans

The Wall That Heals will be hosted by the Virginia International Tattoo for 5 days of events and activities dedicated to honoring and remembering veterans.
