Children from several school districts will participate in the Art Contest on "Thanking a Vietnam Vet". We will be contacting local veterans organizations and ask that Vietnam Vets help judge the contests and share the art with their families and friends.

Air Show and STEM Expo (Science,Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). The Air Show will include The Blue Angels. There will also be static displays and interactive displays of Vietnam Era Equipment.

Annual Alabama State Convention of the Military Order of the Purple Heart held 2 May 2014 and 3 May 2014

Samuel Johnston Chapter Members are encouraged to knit and crochet warm scarves for the annual "Knit Your Bit" campaign that is sponsored by the National WW 2 Museum in New Orleans. Chapter members donated 24 hand-made scarves which are given to elderly and hospitalized veterans in VA facilities nationwide. Many are veterans of the Vietnam War. This is a year-round project for several of our Chapter members.
