Vietnam and Vietnam era Veterans who are Salem State University (Massachusetts) alumnus are invited to a recognition event on May 7 at 5:30 p.m. in Veterans Hall on the main campus. The event will be held in conjunction with the Student Veterans Stole Ceremony honoring members of the Class of 2014 who served in the military. Annual Alabama State Convention of the Military Order of the Purple Heart held 2 May 2014 and 3 May 2014

Samuel Johnston Chapter Members are encouraged to knit and crochet warm scarves for the annual "Knit Your Bit" campaign that is sponsored by the National WW 2 Museum in New Orleans. Chapter members donated 24 hand-made scarves which are given to elderly and hospitalized veterans in VA facilities nationwide. Many are veterans of the Vietnam War. This is a year-round project for several of our Chapter members.
