Air Show and Vietnam Educational Displays

Traveling Wall and Vietnam Memorabilia Display will be main attraction and provide a great opportunity to honor Vietnam War Veterans.

Wreath Laying Ceremony conducted by Rolling Thunder. Rolling Thunder will execute a wreath laying ceremony from 11-1145 to honor Vietnam Veterans and their families. Vietnam War 50th will have a unmanned booth with CP materials on site from 1000- 1400.

To display and honor those who lost their life serving our country. Remember the MIA/POW veterans whose remains have not been recovered from Vietnam.

This concert will honor veterans and their families. As part of the event, the Emcee will thank veterans of the Vietnam War for their service and sacrifice; and pay tribute to their families. This concert is free to all attendees. The script will include the objectives of the Vietnam War Commemoration. We would be honored if a representative from the Vietnam War Commemoration could join us.

There are several events. We are bringing the AV Vietnam Memorial Wall to display with navy flyovers, Hugs For heroes, and gifts to give to each Veteran.with the VA counseling support. We are hosting a Date night dinner/dance as a fundraiser for local Veteran groups, including a Vietnam Veterans education and training center, and we are hosting a luncheon for our local Veterans , as we have for 9 years running, honoring a local hero, Gene Hostetler, US Navy, Vietnam 1966-68, as well as all Vietnam era Veterans.

A booth will be set up at the entry to the local cemetery. Members of the EE-DAH-HOW Chapter, NSDAR will be manning the booth. All families and visitors entering the cemetery will pass by the booth for directions regarding the location of deceased family members and friends within the cemetery. American Flags will be placed at the headstones of all veterans, including veterans of the Vietnam War. Commemorative information (pins and brochures) will be made available regarding the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. EE-DAH-HOW Chapter's Vietnam War Commemorative flag will be posted by the booth.

Annual Alabama State Convention of the Military Order of the Purple Heart held 2 May 2014 and 3 May 2014

Samuel Johnston Chapter Members are encouraged to knit and crochet warm scarves for the annual "Knit Your Bit" campaign that is sponsored by the National WW 2 Museum in New Orleans. Chapter members donated 24 hand-made scarves which are given to elderly and hospitalized veterans in VA facilities nationwide. Many are veterans of the Vietnam War. This is a year-round project for several of our Chapter members.

Thanked and honored Vietnam veterans in Grafton, VT by presenting them with Certificates and pins.

Helping to gather pictures of Vietnam Veterans whose names are on The Wall from the Winnebago County area that will be contributing to the Wall of Faces Project.
