The mission of these events is to reach out to Vietnam Veterans and bring them in to discuss Agent Orange and ways the Veterans Services can support these veterans.

Recognize Vietnam Veterans as they attend zoo exhibits

This is the Annual American Gold Star Mothers Convention to honor all Gold Star Mothers, in particular mothers whose sons were killed in Vietnam. Certificates will be presented along with Gold Star pins.

At this event the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation (AAHF) will be providing helicopter rides to the general public in authentic military helicopters, the UH-1H "Huey" and the AH-1 "Cobra". Our purpose is to educate the public with hands on experience riding in a military combat aircraft that were utilized in the Vietnam War. The focus, as with all of our events, is to thank and honor our veterans and families and to highlight the service of those who so bravely served in Vietnam.

Samuel Johnston Chapter Members are encouraged to knit and crochet warm scarves for the annual "Knit Your Bit" campaign that is sponsored by the National WW 2 Museum in New Orleans. Chapter members donated 24 hand-made scarves which are given to elderly and hospitalized veterans in VA facilities nationwide. Many are veterans of the Vietnam War. This is a year-round project for several of our Chapter members.

Special Recognition service to 26 men and women who serviced in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Thanked and honored Vietnam veterans in Grafton, VT by presenting them with Certificates and pins.
