The Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Trail is located in Price County and has 13 markers to represent the 13 years of service and sacrifice of the brothers and sisters in arms. The markers denote events of the war that were deemed important by Vietnam Veterans. The trail is a commemorative project to remind the public of the sacrifices made by this group of unheralded veterans.

To provide supplies to the Commemorative Partners in the State of Michigan. Many of our chapters find it difficult to use the website. So many times they come to me looking for supplies. I show them how to work the website to order the supplies, but generally to late to get the supplies in, so they borrow from me.

Every Tuesday the city of Plymouth provides musical entertainment at the park in the center of town. A DAR member noticed that there were many men wearing Vietnam caps that came each week. She would like to present each one of these men with a pin and a sticker.

Event will be centered around residents at the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno who served in Vietnam. Presentation of 50th Anniversary Commemoration Presidential Proclamation, five objectives and flag. Roll call and recognition will be given to the Vietnam veteran residents. Collected warm clothing (sweatshirts, Socks,fleece pants, scarves,gloves, hats) and food for the VA Clothes Closet and Food Pantry to give to Veterans (many are Vietnam Veterans)in need, both in-patients and out-patients. Many are homeless or living below the poverty line. The VA Social Workers and Volunteer Services Director handle the distribution.

Samuel Johnston Chapter Members are encouraged to knit and crochet warm scarves for the annual "Knit Your Bit" campaign that is sponsored by the National WW 2 Museum in New Orleans. Chapter members donated 24 hand-made scarves which are given to elderly and hospitalized veterans in VA facilities nationwide. Many are veterans of the Vietnam War. This is a year-round project for several of our Chapter members.
