May 30, 2015: The Fixed Wing War
The Fixed Wing War will cover air to air combat, close air support, bombing campaigns, suppression of enemy air defenses, search and rescue, aerial refueling, and special missions.
A panel of Air Force and Navy Vietnam veterans, whose individual careers include anywhere from 117 to 300 combat missions, will discuss their experiences of air missions during the war. Other topics will include precision guided weapons, training, and aggressor programs.
Christina Olds will give a presentation on her father, Brigadier General Robin Olds, USAF, Ret. who was a “triple ace” with a combined 16 victories in World War II and Vietnam. Christina will be focusing on his experiences as a pilot in Vietnam. There will be a Q&A session and book signing at the conclusion.
