The Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Trail is located in Price County and has 13 markers to represent the 13 years of service and sacrifice of the brothers and sisters in arms. The markers denote events of the war that were deemed important by Vietnam Veterans. The trail is a commemorative project to remind the public of the sacrifices made by this group of unheralded veterans.

To thank and honor our Vietnam Veterans and families.

Farmington has over 200 Vietnam veterans living in the community but there is no veterans organization for them to gather and meet. The veterans will be able to to do this when they attend the "Bring your own brown bag" lunches which will be held at the Farmington Town Hall from 11 am to 1 pm the second Wednesday of each month until December 2017. The main focus is to give the veterans a place where they can casually gather and share but a short program will be designed by sometimes inviting guest speakers. The local DAR chapter will present certificates to all Vietnam veterans who attend.

To make veterans and the public aware of the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam war; handing out information on Vietnam veterans issues, agent orange issues, and health concerns for Vietnam veterans. Tabletop display is held at the VA Hospital the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month for 8 hours per day.

We have contacted local Retirement Homes and the local VA to come to their site and have a program to honor Vietnam Veterans and their families. We feel this is truly reaching out into the community to honor those Vietnam Veterans who are unable to attend events.

Can you add sending 1 set of posters (every one of them). This is for an exhibit he is doing in San Diego that will go till 2017, so I think based on what he’s doing, we can send 1 of everything. Opening ceremony of new permanent exhibit on the Vietnam Experience on the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. Exhibits, displays, timelines, oral histories, and personal stories tell the experiences of San Diegans in the Vietnam War on 4/30/2015. Exhibit opens to public on May 1st, 2015.

This summer in recognition of the 50th anniversary of US involvement in Vietnam, the First Division Museum will present the exhibit, Five Years in the Jungle: Vietnam Experiences of the 1st Infantry Division 1965-1970. The exhibit will include an array of artifacts collected by 1ID units and individuals during service in Vietnam. A significant portion of those objects will be on display in a representation of the division’s in-country museum where visitors will experience how soldiers would learn about the threats they would face in Vietnam. In 1967, the 3rd Brigade created a museum as part of the Combat Introduction Course to help familiarize new soldiers with the weapons, uniforms, equipment, and methods of the NVA and VC. Division HQ took this model and created a museum that served the same purpose for all soldiers who joined the 1st ID. The museum recreation will even include several pieces from the original in-country museums. Another exciting component of the exhibit will be a floor map of the division’s AO. The illustrated map will colorfully depict III Corps Tactical Zone highlighting 1ID areas of operation and will include an inset of both North and South Vietnam for context. Visitors will be able to walk on the map to get a close up look at locations. Surrounding the map will be artifact clusters that tie to specific battles, individuals, locations and unique stories highlighting the entire five year period of the 1st ID’s deployment. Through these artifacts, including significant amounts of captured material, the story of soldiers engaging a skilled and determined enemy will come into focus. In addition, there will be a timeline highlighting important events during the Vietnam War, photo enlargements that portray the different environments found throughout III Corps and a music interactive that will allow visitors to listen to music and create their own playlists. Visitors should leave the exhibit with a better understanding of the experiences of 1st Division soldiers during the Vietnam War and a better understanding of those difficult years.

The New York National Guard's Military History Museum partners with Skidmore College to open a new exhibit May 1 honoring the service of the Capital Region's Vietnam Veterans. Students from the Skidmore College History course, "The Vietnam War in American Memory," taught by Professor David Kieran, gathered the oral histories of 11 Vietnam era-veterans from Saratoga Springs. A joint effort between the students and the NYS Military Museum and Veterans Research Center will be featured in a new public exhibit through November 2015 as part of Department Skidmore students learning about the Vietnam War in Professor Kieran's course sought out 11 area veterans and completed individual oral history assignments to learn more about Vietnam Veterans' diverse experiences. Through collaboration with Courtney Burns, Military History Director and curator of the NYS Military museum, a collection of the students' work, including veteran artifacts from Vietnam and materials that document their experiences, will be exhibited at the museum. The nation marked the start of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War in 2012 and New York State, the New York National Guard, the City of Saratoga Springs and the Military Museum are all Commemorative Partners with the Department of Defense to honor the service of Vietnam Veterans and their families. Events hosted at the museum are intended to thank and honor veterans of the Vietnam War for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the United States and to thank and honor the families of these veterans. The exhibit featuring the Vietnam Veterans experience and their oral histories will be on display at the museum through Veterans Day 2015.

Quilt making for Vietnam vets in the community including the name and date of service on each one. Then, invited the veteran to a luncheon to present to them with a certificate. This is ongoing.

To Honor and Welcome home those who served in Vietnam and those who supported the U.S. in Vietnam. The Moving Wall, Canadian"North Wall," POW/MIA camp, Vietnam artifacts education center, technological,medical advancements education center, CVSO'S on sight. Full Ceremony and program each day. 12 Sep program will be by the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. 13 Sep program in recognition of Vietnam Veterans, SGU's and Families.This event is a Wisconsin Hallmark Event for the 50th Commemoration. To welcome home those who served and honor those who died during the war. We have partnered with the American Legion Riders who will ride 130 miles from Sunrise Beach, MO to the Memorial. A welcome Home and Memorial ceremony will be held.

These item will be made available to all Veterans that come into our offices.

The State of Arkansas has in excel of 4,000 Masons and half of them are of the age of Vietnam Veterans. This program will go to the major Jurisdictions within the state located in Little Rock, Springdale/Fayetteville, and Jonesboro and then to the smaller lodges dispersed across the state in 11 different districts.

We have started fundraisers for the dinner that we will be having to honor Vietnam Veterans and their families. Certificates will be handed out to each veteran there or to the family representing the veteran. Our first fundraiser is a Brown Bag it for Veterans (bean soup, cornbread, dessert and drink). We are trying to get the community involved. We will also be handing items out at the Catfish Festival supporting the veterans from Vietnam War.

Each week a different Vietnam veteran will be profiled in full-page newspaper features. The profiles are published online at www.trib.com/honor with additional photos, audio and other assets. in 2017, a hardcover book of all the profiles will be published. A book signing event will be hosted and each veteran featured will be gifted a copy of the book by our sponsors and fellow commemorative committee members.

Honoring the Vietnam Veterans

We are working with the Georgia Department of Veterans Affairs to award a Certificate of Honor to all local Vietnam Veterans.

Central Oregon has a large number of homeless veterans, about 1/2 of which are Vietnam Veterans. They go to Central Oregon Veterans Outreach seeking canned foods. This food drive will stock their pantry for the fall and winter

To present veterans from Erie Co. New York with certificates from the DAR and label pins to thank them for their service.

Memorial Service held once a month.

Our agency (NYS DVA) advocates and assists Veterans and their families, including conducting numerous and on-going Outreach events, for example- recently honoring female Vietnam Veterans at NYS's Vietnam Veteran Museum. The materials we request will help us to specifically connect with and honor Vietnam Veterans.

For my tri-weekly visits to the hospital: passing along to Vietnam Veterans I encounter. The brochures are for the entrance table.

These events will be held in Sept or October. One event is a standdown for homeless veterans. The other is an event at the Vietnam Chapter to honor them with a cake and certificates and other handouts (pins and bumper stickers). StandDown is a program sponsered in our area by Bridging the Gap to help homeless and disadvantaged Veterans. We had 81 Vets registered this year. Since last year’s program our DAR group collected new underwear (t-Shirts, shorts and socks). We donated more than 200 items for distribution. We also had 3 ladies volunteer and work more than 62 hours in 4 days. Lori VanSant and Sally Bartosh had an Agency Table on Friday. We got to meet, interview and thank many of the Veterans. In addition to the list of VietNam Veterans we met last year, we collected names of 12 more Veterans. We will print Commerative Certificates to present to them with pins. We gave out many sstickers and buttons. We have been invited to participate in the February and September 2017 events. We considered the event a success, and our objective to meet Veterans was fulfilled. A Missing Man Ceremony was done at the StandDown closing ceremony.

honoring the service of Charles Allan Lambrecht, United States Navy who served on 2 separate tours of duty on destroyer USS Cony and USS Mullinnix.

The exhibit, created for J.L. Throckmorton Library by the Airborne and Special Operations Museum, focuses on the relationship between U.S. Army Special Forces (SF) and the Montagnards during the Vietnam War. SF Soldiers trained Montagnards, an indigenous people living Vietnam's mountain highlands, as a part of the Civilian Irregular Defense Group (CIDG) program. As a result, SF Soldiers and Montagnards forged strong bonds. After the war, many Montagnard refugees chose to live in North Carolina to be near their Special Forces comrades. The exhibit features Vietnam era Montagnard weapons and cultural objects.

Our Chapter has 5 Veteran Service Officers who assist veterans in filing claims. They would like to extend their thanks to Vietnam Veterans that they assist by presenting them with a lapel pin.

To honor and show appreciation to all veterans that served during the Vietnam era but especially those that served a tour(s) in Vietnam. To recognize the local heroes that lost their lives there, to thank their families, personally. We hope to have the lapel pins for the vets and give them a certificate of thanks. We will take their pix and do an oral history. There will be a full program with an honor guard,entertainment and refreshments.

Symbols of Sacrifice is an annual event to honor those lost in theater during OEF and OIF as part of the Global War on Terrorism; a US flag is placed on the site's historic Parade Ground honoring the fallen. This year we will also recognize Vietnam-era veterans and their families for their service.

Marine Week is in annual event in which a prominent US city hosts the United States Marine Corps. Throughout the week, various demonstrations, displays, and performances allow the local population to learn about and experience Marine Corps equipment, personnel, and missions.

The Memorial is open year round to educate the public on the Vietnam War and the veterans who served in it. It is run by veteran volunteers and supported by various veteran organizations.They would like a commemorative flag to fly at the memorial museum.

At our September Chapter meeting we will have two Vietnam veterans-Army as Guest Speakers. After their presentation I will talk about our involvement with the Commemorative Partner Program, we will thank Bill and Peter for their service to our country and present them pins with a reception to follow.

Publicly honor and recognize Vietnam Veterans with the DoD Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin and State of Georgia Certificates of Honor. Event will be directly supported by GDVS Central Office Projects & Events Staff and attended by GDVS personnel from Atlanta Central Office or local GDVS Field Offices.

Reception, printing a memory book of pictures & service of those connected with Josephine co. We've had contests for students art work. Presently have been given permission for a cancelation post mark from the Post Office for November 10th day of event. Selling envelopes with the cancelation stamp for collectors.

We will sponsor a display window at the local bank, these are large windows. We will display the commemorative flag, proclamations, POW flag and promote our November 10th event. This window was sponsored last year for 6 weeks starting September 1st and was well received by the community. Anyone going to our popular bank walks past the 6 foot tall windows coming and going

Two of the Vietnam Veterans, guest speakers, have written books of their experiences. This event is to honor their time served and their continued support of Veterans and their families.

POW/MIA Motorcycle Run from Rochester PA VFW Post 128 throughout 40 miles of Beaver County PA, ending at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Beaver PA for a ceremony to honor all POW and MIA veterans as well as the 73 Vietnam Veterans from Beaver County who gave their lives for our freedom.

Series of monthly lectures and discussions, on Marine Corps operations in Viet Nam, 1965-72. This is a duplicate off the event - we have already received maps and posters and tin pins from your office. All we are requesting are the lapel pins, so they may be formally presented to the Viet Nam veterans belonging to the local Marine Corps League chapter, ina ceremony.

To honor all Vietnam Veterans in the Portland Metro Area and their Familys

This will be the 9th annual New York Mets Military Appreciation day which is held in conjunction with Fleet Week New York. Veterans will be lining the warning track, promotion ceremonies on the field, video shout outs, joint services color guard, military/veteran outreach organizations will also be present to provide veterans services

The purpose of the event is too honor the many Vietnam Veterans who fought & supported the fight from Grundy County, Missouri. Vietnam Veterans have donated &/or loaned memorabilia now on display for the public to view. Several veterans have volunteered to be museum docents to answer questions from the public about the war effort and their part in it. The museum's Vietnam exhibit hosts 21 panels documenting veteran reflections about the war and how they feel about having fought there today. The museum also has an audio copy of the Tet Offensive as it happened because a soldier was taping a letter home and forgot to turn off the recorder when the call to battle occurred.

Presenting 256 veteran lapel pins to American Legion Post 55, VFW Post 9010, and two Vietnam veterans who spoke at previous chapter meetings.

The Vietnam Commemoration Tribute is the centerpiece of the Veteran Expo and allows veterans to reflect, share with their families and sign the Honor Roll of Michigan Vietnam Veterans. They are individually greeted, thanked and allowed silent reflection or an opportunity to share stories and ask questions about VA benefits.

The Annual Fall Festival is a community celebration started by the American Legion in Cashton after WWII. Through the years many organizations have worked together to keep it going. This year the Dickman-Spaeth VFW Post 8584 is working with the Cashton Community Club to honor area Vietnam Era Veterans as Parade Marshals. In addition to being honored on a float leading the parade, they are being recognized during the Royalty Pageant and at the Festival Kick-Off on Sept. 9th. The Festival theme this year is "Remembering Vietnam Veterans - 50th Anniversary". The float is stating "Welcome Home Vietnam Era Veterans - Thank You for Your Service." Whatever materials received will be presented to the Vietnam Era Veterans.

Museum is open five days a week to all persons for military history. Large display of Vietnam era.

Chapter daughters prepared a display at the Heard County Museum featuring local Heard County Veterans' pictures and service information, the Commission Flag, 50th Anniversary information and a big note of Appreciation for all. The display was to be up from April thru September. Notices of the display and invitations to the public to visit were printed in the local newspaper.

To illustrate how we lived at the time of the war. How we communicated with our loved ones in Vietnam and to honor the local heroes that lost their lives with pictures and a bio of each soldier. Vietnam memorabilia will be displayed as well as medals and ribbons from the Vietnam veterans.

The Annual Fuzz Run is designed to raise funds for the Covington Police Department for their outreach efforts. The entire community gathers in support of the event and includes booths from different vendors, including us. Vietnam lapel pins were presented to the two veterans that we encountered and honored. Unfortunately, this year's event was a bit of a failure due to inclement weather. We had intended to participate in the flag raising ceremonies, but were not able to do.

Raise funds to support St Jude cancer research and aid North Alabama families with funeral expenses for those children lost to cancer. Our Vietnam veteran, UH-1C Huey gunship and docents will draw passing veterans in addition to those attending the event.

Purpose of event is to honor the veteran for their service by offering them an opportunity to "come together" once a month to visit with other veterans. Refreshments are provided and there is a guest speaker each month.

To have a presence and thank all Veterans who attend. To introduce the flag and educate attendees about the 50th Commemoration of Vietnam partner program.

Lt. Colonel Jerry Ericsson (Ret) spoke at Star of Destiny, NSDAR to relay his experiences as a decorated helicopter pilot in Vietnam and how the war forged the future of his life. As a tribute to him, Star of Destiny has purchased an engraved brick in Lt. Col. Ericsson's name and it has been placed in the Vietnam section of the Veteran's War Memorial, Plaza of Liberty in McAllen, Texas

Placed a wreath at the base of the clock tower for Vietnam Veterans that died during the war.

The primary emphasis of the reunion was: joining our comrades; sharing time and relating stories; enjoying the Assistance Fund Auction, the Vietnam War briefing, the banquet, our key note speaker's message, the POW ceremonial table and tribute, and two special events honoring our own members. An extensive tour of Boston's historic district was included. A special memorial wreath ceremony celebrated the history of war veterans from the town of Woburn. Special guest speaker, Capt. Hugh Buchanan (USAF Ret.).

Illinois State Organization joined with District IV Daughters and setup a display for the Annual DAR Days event. The display table set up to promote the Commemorative Partnership and to Honor Veterans. Over the course of two days, pins and stickers were distributed. Veterans and family of veterans were presented the tin pins. During the 9/11 Remembrance ceremony, Vietnam Veterans in attendance signed up for the Honor Roster. Family members of Vietnam Veterans signed up their loved one to be recognized in the Illinois Vietnam War Era Veteran Honor Roster Volume II.

Our chapter had an exhibit of Vietnam War memorabilia on display at the Putnam Museum. Some items on display were the 50th Commemoration Flag, pictures, uniforms, medals, KIA within a 50-mile radius, Iowa MIA/POWs, and items used by the military in Vietnam.

The monthly meeting was held with a special honor ceremony extended to Vietnam veterans. Lapel pins were presented to all 7 Vietnam veterans present. Honored guests were Taylor Plunckett and Phillips Tapes.

Our DAR chapter's Historic Preservation is collecting questionnaires regarding Vietnam Veterans experiences. This is an ongoing project and will conclude in March 2016. These questionnaires will be converted into a narrative form and compiled for the Katy Library.

The Lapeer County Committee members proposed to the county newspaper that they run an interview of a Vietnam Veteran once a month for the three years of the National Commemoration. The Lapeer County Press agreed and has run full page up to 1 1/4 pages of individual interviews of Lapeer County Vietnam Veterans. The articles have been very educational and have given a very real picture of the war from our heroes eyes. This publication covers more than Lapeer County. Public publication 2015-2018 Anticipated attendance is a guess as I don't know the county distribution hard copy and internet.

To draw attention to the service of the Vietnam Veterams and their families. To honor them in the community.

The Witness to WAr Foundation, in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnam War, has conducted, or assisted with, 92 interviews with Vietnam veterans all across America. Martin Madert attended the Vietnam Helicopter Pilot Association, Mobile Riverine Force Association, and Combined Action Program reunion in 2015 and preserved the stories of those in attendance. In addition to some individual interviews conducted in veterans' hometowns, these interviews cover a wide variety of experiences that our young soldiers faced between 1961-1975. The response to the project was very positive and the foundation has been invited back to continue its work at their next reunions. Many new contacts were made and made aware of the Commemoration's goals which may lead to further interviews in areas that might have been previously untouched. The chapter compiled the Illinois Vietnam War Era Honor Roster Volume II to honor these veterans. This book lists Illinois Vietnam veterans and include name, rank, branch of service, service years, and identifies if they veteran was a war veteran or era veteran.
