The Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Trail is located in Price County and has 13 markers to represent the 13 years of service and sacrifice of the brothers and sisters in arms. The markers denote events of the war that were deemed important by Vietnam Veterans. The trail is a commemorative project to remind the public of the sacrifices made by this group of unheralded veterans.

Farmington has over 200 Vietnam veterans living in the community but there is no veterans organization for them to gather and meet. The veterans will be able to to do this when they attend the "Bring your own brown bag" lunches which will be held at the Farmington Town Hall from 11 am to 1 pm the second Wednesday of each month until December 2017. The main focus is to give the veterans a place where they can casually gather and share but a short program will be designed by sometimes inviting guest speakers. The local DAR chapter will present certificates to all Vietnam veterans who attend.

To make veterans and the public aware of the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam war; handing out information on Vietnam veterans issues, agent orange issues, and health concerns for Vietnam veterans. Tabletop display is held at the VA Hospital the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month for 8 hours per day.

Can you add sending 1 set of posters (every one of them). This is for an exhibit he is doing in San Diego that will go till 2017, so I think based on what he’s doing, we can send 1 of everything. Opening ceremony of new permanent exhibit on the Vietnam Experience on the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. Exhibits, displays, timelines, oral histories, and personal stories tell the experiences of San Diegans in the Vietnam War on 4/30/2015. Exhibit opens to public on May 1st, 2015.

Each week a different Vietnam veteran will be profiled in full-page newspaper features. The profiles are published online at www.trib.com/honor with additional photos, audio and other assets. in 2017, a hardcover book of all the profiles will be published. A book signing event will be hosted and each veteran featured will be gifted a copy of the book by our sponsors and fellow commemorative committee members.

We are working with the Georgia Department of Veterans Affairs to award a Certificate of Honor to all local Vietnam Veterans.

To present veterans from Erie Co. New York with certificates from the DAR and label pins to thank them for their service.

Our agency (NYS DVA) advocates and assists Veterans and their families, including conducting numerous and on-going Outreach events, for example- recently honoring female Vietnam Veterans at NYS's Vietnam Veteran Museum. The materials we request will help us to specifically connect with and honor Vietnam Veterans.

To thank the Vietnam veterans and those lost during the war in the Hoopeston area with a meal and a lapel pin at the Hoopeston American Legion Post.

The exhibit, created for J.L. Throckmorton Library by the Airborne and Special Operations Museum, focuses on the relationship between U.S. Army Special Forces (SF) and the Montagnards during the Vietnam War. SF Soldiers trained Montagnards, an indigenous people living Vietnam's mountain highlands, as a part of the Civilian Irregular Defense Group (CIDG) program. As a result, SF Soldiers and Montagnards forged strong bonds. After the war, many Montagnard refugees chose to live in North Carolina to be near their Special Forces comrades. The exhibit features Vietnam era Montagnard weapons and cultural objects.

The Memorial is open year round to educate the public on the Vietnam War and the veterans who served in it. It is run by veteran volunteers and supported by various veteran organizations.They would like a commemorative flag to fly at the memorial museum.

I travel throughout an 11 state area and visit with many veterans, their families and various veteran organizations. Am in need of materials to hand out to people so word can spread about the commemoration. Am working on a Purple Heart Event in Branson, Missouri to take place 21-23 April 2016. Last year had 250 Purple Heart Recipients, and their spouses, in attendance, mostly Vietnam veterans.

This will be the 9th annual New York Mets Military Appreciation day which is held in conjunction with Fleet Week New York. Veterans will be lining the warning track, promotion ceremonies on the field, video shout outs, joint services color guard, military/veteran outreach organizations will also be present to provide veterans services

On Friday, November 13, Take Me Home Huey will begin an exhibition at the Airbase Arizona Museum of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) in Mesa, AZ. The “healing helicopter” will be on display to the public until late January 2016. Maloney’s Take Me Home Huey 42-foot long art installation combines a Huey helicopter used in Vietnam and turned into art for healing with a documentary film, a commissioned Take Me Home Huey song, a growing social media presence and website. A multi-media art project, Take Me Home Huey was created by the artist Steve Maloney from the remains of a UH-1H Huey helicopter that was shot down in 1969 during a medical rescue in Vietnam. The serial number of the Huey is 67-17174; the aircraft is commonly known as #174. The crew chief Gary Dubach and the medic Stephen Schumacher died bravely during the medical rescue attempt. The aircraft was found by Light Horse Legacy (LHL), a Peoria Az. based 501(c)3 non-profit focused on Post-Traumatic Stress. LHL researched, re-skinned and restored the helicopter for Maloney, who then repurposed it into art for healing. The CAF Airbase Arizona Aviation Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of those who have given so much to their country. The art sculpture will honor Vietnam veterans and will be appreciated by veterans and their families, art aficionados and history buffs alike. The museum is open daily from 10:00am – 4:00pm. The Take Me Home Huey art installation and self-guided tour via individual mobile phones at the CAF will be open to the public and free with entrance from 10:00am -4:00pm daily.

President General Young will be honoring Vietnam veterans at every stop during her official travels to meet with chapter regents.

University will allow display of VN memorablia and books in library display case on a rotating basis. Will also provide web site with materials for possible student study. Will display Presidential Proclamation as well as posters developed by your organization.

Beaverton Post #124 is refurbishing and relocating one of the oldest Vietnam Veterans Memorials in the United States. The Memorial, dedicated in June 1968, lists all the Oregonians killed in the war as of the date of dedication, many added later. The building where this memorial was for almost fifty years had sold and the remodeling put the memorial in harms way. The Beaverton Post has removed the Memorial from its old location and it is safely stored. The Post is presently securing funds to build the Memorial's permanent home in our Veterans Memorial Park. This is an expensive project, approx $130,000. We have secured $63,000 to date but we are reaching out to the community, organizations and corporations for financial help. Theme for the City Veterans Day Program is "Chesapeake Remembers its Vietnam Veterans." Speaker is a Combat Infantry enlisted man who served in the infantry. Our Vietnam Veteran's will be seated and welcomed by the Mayor and distribution of pins made in public.

We have presented 75 DAR Vietnam Veteran Certificates in the last year. I would like to present the lapel pin to each of those veterans previously honored.

Dear Vietnam Vet is an ongoing project getting thank you letters into the hands of Vietnam Vets. Anyone can write a thank you letter and DVV mails them and gives them to Vietnam Vets. We also put some of the support materials below into the letters. We are preparing and awarding certificates of appreciation to Vietnam veterans. These are already being distributed. We would like veteran tie pins to accompany the certificates.

To share a short informational fact at each meeting to highlight the service of the Armed Services during the Vietnam War. We began with "General Shinseki's Six Pillars: A Philosophy of Soldiering", will continue on with the objectives of the Vietnam War Commemoration and talking points published on the Commemoration website. We will also use "This week in history" from the website, share pictures from Vietnam War displays and facts and pictures from "Armies of the Vietnam War 1962 - 75"

At each of the Central Texas-Fort Hood Chapter's general membership events this fiscal year, we the largest AUSA Chapter in the Uited States would like to recognize Vietnam Veterans publicly by presenting each with a VWC lapel pin in honor of their service. The Chapter's proximity to the retiree population around Fort Hood makes us and these events uniquely qualified to do so. The Central Texas-Fort Hood Chapter of the Association of the United States Army hosted a General Membership meeting at the Anderson Student Center on the campus of Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas on December 17, 2015. The Keynote address was given by General Robert Abrams the Commanding General of FORSCOM. General (R) Robert M. Shoemaker, LTG (R) Horace G. Taylor and LTG (R) Paul Funk (all Vietnam Veterans) were each presented their VWC lapel pins. Subsequently, all three retired General Officers participated in the recognition and pinning of (15) additional Vietnam Veterans with their VWC lapel pins.

To continue to promote the 50th through individual meetings with Veterans to presentations to small groups throughout rural Iowa.

This regularly scheduled quarterly meeting of the State Council of Chapters of the Military Officers Association of America will be dedicated to honoring and thanking VN vets and their family members. We have compiled an impressive display of memorabilia and background info, which has been used in other gatherings across the state. Veterans, POW/MIA, and allies will be honored, along with the families who stayed behind in support. The meeting was held in conjunction with a dinner. The program included a "Wind Beneath Our Wings" ceremony, which honored military spouses, as well as, the installation of Council and Chapter officers for the coming term. We were honored to have Col. Brian Andrews, USAF (Ret) with us from National MOAA, where he serves as Deputy Director, Dept. of Chapter and Council Affairs. The chaplain's invocation included a special blessing on former POWs and MIAs, as well as, their families. Col. Anderson, in his remarks, included a brief discussion of National MOAA's role as a Commemorative Partner. Col. Jeri Graham (Ret) introduced the actual ceremony. Lapel pins were presented by Col. Anderson; Capt. Doug Ehrhardt, USN (Ret); the incoming President of the Council; and Col. Tonya Dickerson. After dinner, a number of veterans queued up to have pictures taken with the Vietnam map, showing where they had served. Overall, it was a very moving and memorable evening, appreciated by all in attendance.

Non - Event Distribution of Members that are VETS

The EC-47 History Site has sponsored and co-sponsored eight VWC events so far this year. Please see our after action reports. Also, we have either sponsored or supported additional ceremonies for Vietnam War veterans in nursing homes or for those unable to attend our organized group events. During our group ceremonies, we receive many requests for lapel pins and other VWC materials for eligible family member and friends veterans living outside of the Concho Valley, and in most cases, outside the state. Using the VWC partner portal, we attempt to locate participating VWC partners in a close proximity to the requesting veterans. . .and ask that partner to make contact and include these individual veterans in their planned programs. This has not been as successful as we had hoped. Failing to locate a participating VWC partner leaves us with few alternatives, so we have established a mail-out package that The EC-47 History Site will prepare and mail to eligible Vietnam War and Vietnam War-era veterans. The mail-out packages include: a high-quality blue pocket folder to hold a copy of the Presidential proclamation, individual VWC fact sheets, a commemorative lapel pin and fact sheet, and a sticker and information sheets explaining the VWC seal and flag. The EC-47 History Site has a robust committee and a number of these supporting organizations are including materials that focus on the VWC objectives...principally to honor and thank each of these mail-out recipients in a special way. This request is for an approximate 4-month supply of support materials to be used only in this mail-out program. We intend to submit an after action report o/a March 31, 2016 to account for the success of this program (measured by the feedback we receive from participating veterans.) We appreciate the solid guidance provided by VWC representative Trina M. Chisholm as we developed this mail-out program. Thanks for your support as well.

Our DAR chapter's Historic Preservation is collecting questionnaires regarding Vietnam Veterans experiences. This is an ongoing project and will conclude in March 2016. These questionnaires will be converted into a narrative form and compiled for the Katy Library.

Need more Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins

To honor the service of Vietnam Veterans and their families.

Since this is on-line, we cannot estimate the numbers reached. The January issue of Airman Magazine, the official magazine of the USAF, will feature profiles of Vietnam Veterans. Besides honoring their service and that of their families, the issue will also raise awareness of the contributions of Airmen. This issue of Airman Magazine, located at http://airman.dodlive.mil/2016/01/, successfully fulfilled the objectives of the Commemoration. Three separate articles featured profiles of three Air Force Vietnam Veterans who had also been prisoners of war. In fact, one was the only Vietnam POW who subsequently became a four-star general. A separate article, entitled "Forward From Vietnam," corrected the frequently accepted myth that the Vietnam War was a failure for the United States and the U.S. Air Force. It discussed how the USAF experiences in Southeast Asia transformed the service from a nuclear focus to a more flexible force with "increasingly sophisticated conventional weapons." Important technological advances, such as guided bombs, emerged from this experience. The capabilities provided by guided bombs enabled each bomb to count much more, and significantly increased accuracy enabled smaller forces to disable targets more rapidly, accurately, and effectively. Effective air power victories, such as during Desert Storm in 1991, were possible because of lessons learned and technologies developed during the latter period of the Vietnam War. Another article, entitled "Digging for Answers," focused on the current efforts to account for U.S. personnel listed as missing during the Vietnam War. It features two families (three family members) who eventually learned the fate of their loved one due to the committed search for missing personnel. It also featured a Vietnam Veteran who is now committed to the recovery efforts.

To honor Veterans and specifically those that served in Vietnam. The monthly genealogical meetings are held and we anticipate that in four months we can honor close to 30 Vietnam Veterans. We have asked for a listing of all genealogy members who are Vietnam era Vets and have rec'd 25 including one female. We do anticipate a few more at these meetings.

Several Walls in the museum have been dedicated to honoring the Vietnam Veterans..The Commerative Flag is displayed and personalized tours are being conducted especially for the Vietnam Veterans and their families.

The Lapeer County Committee members proposed to the county newspaper that they run an interview of a Vietnam Veteran once a month for the three years of the National Commemoration. The Lapeer County Press agreed and has run full page up to 1 1/4 pages of individual interviews of Lapeer County Vietnam Veterans. The articles have been very educational and have given a very real picture of the war from our heroes eyes. This publication covers more than Lapeer County. Public publication 2015-2018 Anticipated attendance is a guess as I don't know the county distribution hard copy and internet.

Patriots Challenge and American Legion Bass Fishing Series Vietnam Vets honored at each monthly event.

The purpose of this event is to recognize Vietnam veterans in our community and to remember those who gave their lives in that conflict. Also to remember those who have died since they returned home.

A display to honor veterans, with an emphasis on the Vietnam War.

Remove wreaths from all the grave markers of all interred at the Sarasota National Cemetery. We will honor all Vietnam Vets that participate in our clean-up. About 25% of participants will be Vietnam Vets and their families.

The purpose of this display is to raise awareness of the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War. It highlights life for an American soldier during that time period. Another purpose of the display is to enlighten patrons about the sacrifices by those who fought in the war.

Post will have Morning Coffee all Year Sunday through Tuesday. Bingo Every Saturday Night. Special Dinners. Flag Burning Ceremony. All will honor the Service of Vietnam Veterans. The hall will have displays of the time line of the war. Veterans will be asked to talk about their times there. Hoping to include the local High School and Elementary school with history displays and talks with our Vietnam Veterans.

Our AL Post 284 is celebrating its 70th Anniversary of service to Veterans and the community. The 1st Quarter is devoted to honoring Vietnam Veterans. The other quarters will be themed to honor, WWII, Korea, and other eras. There are Vietnam Veteran events planned for April an May as well, but I have not gotten all of the information from our Post 70th Celebration Committee.

A commemorative display was set up at the Murphysboro American Legion. This display consisted of a: Commemorative Flag, brochure, seal, and presidential proclamation. The display will remain up for several months.

Four of the six of us were stationed at Loring AFB 1972. The two B52 pilots had not seen each other since 1974. Two AF nurses were present. And a heliocopter pilot stationed in Thailand. One spouse. All were thanked for their service in Vietnam , Guam, Thailand, and Loring AFB.

We built our own 60% replica of the Vietnam Wall and held a special Vietnam service

We will take the time, throughout the month of January & February, to individually honor the Vietnam Veterans and their families that reside in the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, LA.

10 veterans were presented pins and materials between 24-26 July in Sault Ste. Marie and Brimley, MI by the Kanava president and staff. 10 pins and materials were presented to Vietnam veterans in July by Kanava staff in MI. 2 Vietnam veterans (Navy and Army) located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI were presented pins by Kanava staff on July 1. 21 Vietnam veterans, including 11 Asian-Americans, were presented pins and materials between July and November by Kanava staff in PA, AZ, CA, OR, HI.

Vietnam Veterans were able to show their military items, photos, scrapbooks and memorabilia. Veterans moved some of their items out to Commemoration shows. Lapeer County Commemoration group moved items from museum to exhibits and back to museum through the 3 years. On special days Vietnam Vets were at the museum to greet people and talk to them about the exhibit the last being 12/20/17.
