12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
To honor and thank Vietnam veterans for their service.
We believe our events and efforts were a great success. We held a ceremony and luncheon on 03/28/2016 at our VA Medical Center. 100 invitations went to Vietnam Era Veteran employees, a local VVA Chapter, and 80 random Vietnam Veterans living in Saginaw. Because we serve over 17,000 Vietnam Veterans, we also had each of our VA facilities in Alpena, Bad Axe, Cadillac, Cheboygan, Clare, Gaylord, Grayling, Oscoda, and Traverse City, and also our VA Healthcare Annex, participate in honoring Vietnam Veterans by providing them the Vietnam Lapel Pin, the Proclamation, and a letter from our Acting Medical Center Director.
We received some incredible feedback from those at the ceremony and those receiving the recognition in our clinics over the week.
We had a Military Museum display in our front entrance of the medical center, a Vietnam Veteran employee with items on display as well, and a window display in our medical center with our Commemorative Partner Flag, certificate, etc.
We had vinyl banners made for each of our VA facilities that we will be using for future events.
