12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
Patriotic Productions is honoring Vietnam Veterans by bringing them on an Honor Flight to Washington DC to view, among other sites, the Vietnam Memorial Wall. They will be receiving their DAR certificates at registration April 29 & 30 in LaVista, NE. There is a Pre-flight Dinner April 30th also in LaVista. The significance of the pins will be explained during the program that evening. Veterans and escorts will board 3 planes before dawn, fly to DC, board buses and tour the city. The pins will be presented at a ceremony on the lawn near the Wall. A group photo will be taken at the Lincoln Memorial. Details of the trip can be addressed with Bill Williams, contact information above. Upon their return, this time to the airport in Lincoln NE, crowds greet the veterans along with bands from schools, & organizations. A bagpipe band escorts the returning veterans, along with the Patriot Guard Riders. Spouses and family members greet them upon disembarkation. The public, with signs, banners, flags, cards, and warm greetings of Welcome Home! as well as handshakes and high fives, all greet the veterans. Yellow roses will be given to them, to approximate the feeling of the liberation of Paris.
A presenter of the pins as well as assistance pinning the veterans is requested at the Memorial Wall. Please send the materials - brochures, pins, bumper and other stickers as well as the information sheet about the lapel pin to Debra Miner, address above. Please present the lapel pins at the Memorial Wall, to be brought by the presenter.
