12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
The Doggers, a group of Air Force Vietnamese linguists, and member of the EC-47 History Site Commemorative Partner Program committee, meet annaually during the last week of April to commemorate the final days of U.S. operations prior to the fall of the Republic of Vietnam on April 30, 1975. Attendees include members of the many United States Air Force Security Service (USAFSS) units engaged in signals intelligence and tactical support during the Vietnam War. These include the 6994th, 6990th, 6924th, 6908th, 6988th, 6922nd, and 6987th Security Squadrons, and personnel who served with the National Security Agency, Joint Task Force - Full Accounting, and associated intelligence support activities. The purpose of this Fall of Saigon Party (FOSP) is to provide an annual opportunity for attendees to enjoy the company of their own "band of brothers" and to reminisce with old friends about the good and bad days of the war. A memorial service with a moment of silence will be organized to pay reverence to those lost during the war and those who have died in the passing years and to demonstrate heartfelt respect for those armed forces of the Republic of Vietnam and the other nations that were engaged in the Vietnam War. This year's reunion will continue to focus on the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration (VWC) list of objectives with emphasis on the emerging technologies of the War and the recognition of the support spouses and family gave their warriors. Doggers who have received their commemorative lapel pins at previous VWC ceremonies will serve as ceremony organizers, offer appropriate remarks, and present the lapel pins to all other eligible veterans attending. Commemorative materials will be on display and available to family members and guests. Individual and group photos will be taken and included in the after-action report.
