Tidewell Hospice is proud to announce an evening with Glenn Hoover, a Vietnam War combat veteran and photographer on Wednesday May 22 2019 from 5:30-7:00 PM at The Glenridge Performing Art Center 7333 Scotland Way Sarasota, FL. He is a recipient of several medals and commendations for heroism and meritorious service including our nation’s 3rd highest award for valor the Silver Star. Tidewell’s Honors Veterans Program is sponsoring Glenn Hoover with his Vietnam War photo exhibition, entitled INNOCENT SOULS: VIETNAM 1968.
Between battles, Army First Lieutenant Hoover captured the details of everyday life, from soldiers reading letters from home to villages of the Degar (or Montagnards) along with the indigenous people of the Vietnamese highlands who found themselves in a war zone. Dr. Clarice Yentsch, president of The Waypoint Foundation and now exhibition curator for Innocent Souls, urged Hoover to share the photo after seeing a picture of the village with its thatched huts.
Doors open at 5:30 for viewing and appetizers. Program runs from 6:00-7:00 PM with a presentation by Glenn Hoover. Ten of his photos will be on exhibit in the Performing Arts Center lobby.
