Richard Alyea, representing the Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center, asked if AUSA would support a Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin Ceremony, indicating 24 eligible recipients at the Center. On 28 June, Stonewall Jackson Chapter President took material to the Center and following honors to the Flag, presented 19 pins individually in ceremony. Following the ceremony and light refreshments, five more pins were presented to Vietnam-era veterans who were bedridden--a moving experience for all.
--Additionally, one surviving spouse pin and certificate was presented to Sylvia Washington, also a resident at the Center--she was most appreciative.
