The markers denote events of the war that were deemed important by Vietnam Veterans. The trail is a commemorative project to remind the public of the sacrifices made by this group of unheralded veterans.

I presently consult with Stein Hospice in Sandusky Ohio. They are a level 4 member of the VA's Hospice Veteran Partnership. We honor all veterans admitted to Hospice services with a certificate of Appreciation, a Military Service Branch blanket with the appropriate military branch emblem and a Ohio Hospice Veteran Partnership pin. Just today, I honored 3 veterans in their home and all are eligible for the Commemorative Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin. Stein Hospice has committed to being a corporate sponsor of future Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin events and welcome the committee additionally honoring Vietnam Veterans with the Commemoration Lapel Pin as well. Most hospice patients survive less than 14 days after admission. This is an important opportunity to honor those Vietnam Veterans before their passing.

More Than Self: Living the Vietnam War online replicates the brick and mortar exhibition on display at the Atlanta History Center from November 11, 2017 through March 31, 2018. Most of the photographs, many of the artifacts, and all of the oral histories contained in the exhibit are now accessible to users across the globe. This online exhibition tells the firsthand accounts of the men and women who served in Vietnam and Southeast Asia during the war. The Army officer who recalls seeing coffins and body bags being loaded onto aircraft as he arrived in Vietnam; the Navy swift boat commander who remembers the Special Forces team he took into the jungle; the Army nurse who describes humanitarian missions to Vietnamese leper colonies; the Marine Corps veteran who recalls his homecoming: this exhibit covers a broad range of experiences recalled by those who were there and honors their service and sacrifice.

State Medal Ceremonies are scheduled throughout the year (sometimes twice a month) to all honorably discharged Veterans in NJ. Posthumous Awards are also given. Vietnam Veterans are a growing number of recipients. Veterans are awarded their state medals, with a certificate and letter signed by NJ Governor Philip Murphy. The Vietnam Veterans will also receive a commemorative lapel pin. We now want to honor surviving spouses of Vietnam Veterans that attend the ceremonies. I have been submitting AAR with pictures of our events throughout 2018.

Hospice of Wichita Falls honors their veterans by giving the veteran or family a certificate that states we honor and thank them for their services. We also give out a quilt to each veteran who we are in contact with. Hospice of Wichita Falls is a facility to take care of patients who are passing and one way that we like to give back is by giving them a certificate and blanket. We would like to give our Vietnam Veterans a lapel pin too. We are seeing a growing increase in Vietnam veterans and would like to add the lapel pins as a way to give back to our community and veterans.

Honoring Vietnam veterans is the focus of the 2019-2020 State Project of the Michigan Society Children of the American (C.A.R.) Revolution. While waiting for our partnership application to be processed, we have "borrowed" supplies from the Ki-Ka-Ma-Sung C.A.R. Society. That supply of tin pins is almost exhausted. The brochures and surviving spouse pins are new to us. We will distribute these supplies to the general public at various events throughout the year and will order more as supplies run low. The Second Annual Quilts of Valor Display in the prestigious Rock Hill Rotunda is open to the public. Last year, an estimated 3,000 attended and over 500 were Vietnam veterans. The Moving Wall, a half scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C., will be on public display in the Borough of Buena from Thursday, October 3 until Monday, October 7. There will be an opening ceremony at 6pm on Thursday, October 3rd that will focus on the service and sacrifices made by our service members during the Vietnam War. The ceremony will include speeches by Buena Borough Mayor David Zappariello and NJ State Senator Chris A. Brown (former US Army officer). The NJ Air National Guard, NJ Army National Guard, US Coast Guard, US Army, US Marine Corps and many other local dignitaries will participate in various ways to honor and pay tribute to our Vietnam Veterans during the ceremony.There will also be a cannon volley, a rifle team,the ringing of the memorial bell, and a flag folding tribute all presented by "Last Salute".

I consistently honor our Vietnam Veterans and present them with pins acknowledging their service to our country. Many times its one person at a time as they come in. I have spoke at Legions and VFW's inviting Veterans to come to my office and get recognized. As far as the stickers I am out of as I let the folks help themselves. It is my intention to order more in the future. I also keep the proclamation visible in my office.

Honored and thanked hospice patients who are Vietnam War veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice during the Vietnam War era. Patients were all either home or bed bound with limited life expectancy and unable to attend public recognition events. For each patient - played service song, read and presented framed proclamation, presented Vietnam Veteran lapel pin and read fact sheet about design of pin. Saluted Vietnam War Veteran and thanked them for their service to their country and their respective service. For many, this was both the first time they were thanked for their service, for all it was the last as they all passed soon after the recognition. Several of the Vietnam veteran patients were not aware of the event, instead, it was primarily for the families and they were very appreciative. I have seen the Veteran label pin on the deceased at several funeral services and the framed proclamation prominently displayed. I believe the VWC program is a very worthwhile and meaningful program and I know it has made a difference to the Vietnam veterans and families I have had to privilege to recognize and thank.

All veterans are honored shortly after admission to Stein Hospice Services. All are presented with a certificate of appreciation, a fleece blanket with the military service branch emblem and a We Honor Veterans lapel pin. Vietnam War veterans are also pinned with the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Lapel Pin. In conjuction with Veterans Day, we provided special Veterans Day ceremonies at 38 Long Term Care facilities and Community Senor Centers. Vietnam War veterans were pinned and given both Presidential Proclamations, VVLP Fact Sheet, "I Served" sticker and Family Member pins.
