The markers denote events of the war that were deemed important by Vietnam Veterans. The trail is a commemorative project to remind the public of the sacrifices made by this group of unheralded veterans.

I presently consult with Stein Hospice in Sandusky Ohio. They are a level 4 member of the VA's Hospice Veteran Partnership. We honor all veterans admitted to Hospice services with a certificate of Appreciation, a Military Service Branch blanket with the appropriate military branch emblem and a Ohio Hospice Veteran Partnership pin. Just today, I honored 3 veterans in their home and all are eligible for the Commemorative Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin. Stein Hospice has committed to being a corporate sponsor of future Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin events and welcome the committee additionally honoring Vietnam Veterans with the Commemoration Lapel Pin as well. Most hospice patients survive less than 14 days after admission. This is an important opportunity to honor those Vietnam Veterans before their passing.

More Than Self: Living the Vietnam War online replicates the brick and mortar exhibition on display at the Atlanta History Center from November 11, 2017 through March 31, 2018. Most of the photographs, many of the artifacts, and all of the oral histories contained in the exhibit are now accessible to users across the globe. This online exhibition tells the firsthand accounts of the men and women who served in Vietnam and Southeast Asia during the war. The Army officer who recalls seeing coffins and body bags being loaded onto aircraft as he arrived in Vietnam; the Navy swift boat commander who remembers the Special Forces team he took into the jungle; the Army nurse who describes humanitarian missions to Vietnamese leper colonies; the Marine Corps veteran who recalls his homecoming: this exhibit covers a broad range of experiences recalled by those who were there and honors their service and sacrifice.

State Medal Ceremonies are scheduled throughout the year (sometimes twice a month) to all honorably discharged Veterans in NJ. Posthumous Awards are also given. Vietnam Veterans are a growing number of recipients. Veterans are awarded their state medals, with a certificate and letter signed by NJ Governor Philip Murphy. The Vietnam Veterans will also receive a commemorative lapel pin. We now want to honor surviving spouses of Vietnam Veterans that attend the ceremonies. I have been submitting AAR with pictures of our events throughout 2018.

Hospice of Wichita Falls honors their veterans by giving the veteran or family a certificate that states we honor and thank them for their services. We also give out a quilt to each veteran who we are in contact with. Hospice of Wichita Falls is a facility to take care of patients who are passing and one way that we like to give back is by giving them a certificate and blanket. We would like to give our Vietnam Veterans a lapel pin too. We are seeing a growing increase in Vietnam veterans and would like to add the lapel pins as a way to give back to our community and veterans.

The Military Appreciation Luncheon is an annual event in it's 35th year to honor retired and active duty military personal. All branches are invited to come eat a complimentary meal, listen to a guest speaker and watch as we honor our Vietnam Veterans with a commemorative pin. This year it is on Oct. 29. We also honor veterans at multiple events leading up to the luncheon (American Legion Post #133 Events & Rotary Meetings).

Honoring Vietnam veterans is the focus of the 2019-2020 State Project of the Michigan Society Children of the American (C.A.R.) Revolution. While waiting for our partnership application to be processed, we have "borrowed" supplies from the Ki-Ka-Ma-Sung C.A.R. Society. That supply of tin pins is almost exhausted. The brochures and surviving spouse pins are new to us. We will distribute these supplies to the general public at various events throughout the year and will order more as supplies run low. In particular, we would like a sufficient quantity of tin pins to hand out at the 4th of July parade, as well as to distribute to C.A.R. members from throughout the state (who will then disseminate the materials at commemorative events in their local communities) at our State meeting on July 6.

The Stand Down is an event where multiple veteran resources and agencies come together to support homeless veterans. While exact attendance is uncertain, we typically have approximately 200 veteran in attendance. The exact number of Vietnam Veterans is difficult to predict but we will strive to identify qualified veterans and present the certificates and pins throughout the event. Wherever possible, these awards will be made using the event stage to promote the program & provide recognition to the veterans. Based on prior years' participation, we are requesting 35 VN Veteran pins and 15 Surviving Spouse pins. This is slightly above the expected participation but we do not want to turn away a Vietnam Veteran. Any additional pins will be retained for award at our Paychecks For Patriots job fairs which will be held the following month (The exact date for P4P event(s) has not been determined at this time.)

The Second Annual Quilts of Valor Display in the prestigious Rock Hill Rotunda is open to the public. Last year, an estimated 3,000 attended and over 500 were Vietnam veterans. This year (2019) an estimated 5,000 will attend with over 750 Vietnam veterans expected. USS Yorktown CG-48 was commissioned in Yorktown, VA on July 4,1984. Our last reunion in Knoxville (2018) successfully awarded 20 plus Yorktown sailors and "other observers" who were verified as Vietnam Vets. I'm using our opportunity to participate in the Annual Revolution Celebration in Yorktown, VA and establishing our "museum footprint" to honor Yorktown Vets who are attending this event, and to capture any Vietnam Veteran bystanders. This is why I am asking for some additional pins, etc., that can be returned if not used. However, the few pins left over from our 2018 reunion were issued at separate events, e.g., our plaque dedication at Navy Memorial on October 5, 2018 and when I was traveling in Kentucky and shopped at a local merchant's store ... he was a vet ... we talked ... and I honored him in front of customers and family right in the store .... it was a great tear jerk moment for him. Anyway .... "I find them, I honor them" no matter when and where the event. And all are verified as VV. This is a great program and I am proud to support it.

Patriot Guard Missions at Funerals and other Missions. Each Vietnam Veteran will receive a jacket and shirt that designates them as Vietnam veterans. During the trip, we will be visiting Washington memorials including the Vietnam Memorial. In addition, each veteran will receive from SSHF a commemorative Vietnam Memorial pin and a personalized MAIL CALL envelope containing personal letters from their family and friends as well as letters from Wisconsin's Governor, the US Senators, and letters of gratitude from school children and the public from southeast Wisconsin. The Lapel pins and accompanying materials provided by you will be given to the Vietnam veterans during their return trip to Milwaukee. A Homecoming Parade, bands and a silent salute will greet them upon their arrival home.

I consistently honor our Vietnam Veterans and present them with pins acknowledging their service to our country. Many times its one person at a time as they come in. I have spoke at Legions and VFW's inviting Veterans to come to my office and get recognized. As far as the stickers I am out of as I let the folks help themselves. It is my intention to order more in the future. I also keep the proclamation visible in my office.

Honored and thanked hospice patients who are Vietnam War veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice during the Vietnam War era. Patients were all either home or bed bound with limited life expectancy and unable to attend public recognition events. For each patient - played service song, read and presented framed proclamation, presented Vietnam Veteran lapel pin and read fact sheet about design of pin. Saluted Vietnam War Veteran and thanked them for their service to their country and their respective service. For many, this was both the first time they were thanked for their service, for all it was the last as they all passed soon after the recognition. Several of the Vietnam veteran patients were not aware of the event, instead, it was primarily for the families and they were very appreciative. I have seen the Veteran label pin on the deceased at several funeral services and the framed proclamation prominently displayed. I believe the VWC program is a very worthwhile and meaningful program and I know it has made a difference to the Vietnam veterans and families I have had to privilege to recognize and thank.

Our chapter donated food to contribute to the picnic for Vietnam Veterans and their families. Our Regent served veterans during the picnic. We also presented pins to Vietnam Veterans in a special ceremony.

All veterans are honored shortly after admission to Stein Hospice Services. All are presented with a certificate of appreciation, a fleece blanket with the military service branch emblem and a We Honor Veterans lapel pin. Vietnam War veterans are also pinned with the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Lapel Pin. In conjuction with Veterans Day, we provided special Veterans Day ceremonies at 38 Long Term Care facilities and Community Senor Centers. Vietnam War veterans were pinned and given both Presidential Proclamations, VVLP Fact Sheet, "I Served" sticker and Family Member pins.
