The Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Trail is located in Price County and has 13 markers to represent the 13 years of service and sacrifice of the brothers and sisters in arms. The markers denote events of the war that were deemed important by Vietnam Veterans. The trail is a commemorative project to remind the public of the sacrifices made by this group of unheralded veterans.

To give all Vietnam Veterans the long overdue welcome home and show them our appreciation and recognition for their service to our country. We want to provide our Vietnam Veterans with a lapel pin and a certificate of their service and sacrifice to show our gratitude.

Honor the deceased Vietnam Veteran. Honor and support the surviving spouse or children

I presently consult with Stein Hospice in Sandusky Ohio. They are a level 4 member of the VA's Hospice Veteran Partnership. We honor all veterans admitted to Hospice services with a certificate of Appreciation, a Military Service Branch blanket with the appropriate military branch emblem and a Ohio Hospice Veteran Partnership pin. Just today, I honored 3 veterans in their home and all are eligible for the Commemorative Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin. Stein Hospice has committed to being a corporate sponsor of future Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin events and welcome the committee additionally honoring Vietnam Veterans with the Commemoration Lapel Pin as well. Most hospice patients survive less than 14 days after admission. This is an important opportunity to honor those Vietnam Veterans before their passing.

More Than Self: Living the Vietnam War online replicates the brick and mortar exhibition on display at the Atlanta History Center from November 11, 2017 through March 31, 2018. Most of the photographs, many of the artifacts, and all of the oral histories contained in the exhibit are now accessible to users across the globe. This online exhibition tells the firsthand accounts of the men and women who served in Vietnam and Southeast Asia during the war. The Army officer who recalls seeing coffins and body bags being loaded onto aircraft as he arrived in Vietnam; the Navy swift boat commander who remembers the Special Forces team he took into the jungle; the Army nurse who describes humanitarian missions to Vietnamese leper colonies; the Marine Corps veteran who recalls his homecoming: this exhibit covers a broad range of experiences recalled by those who were there and honors their service and sacrifice.

The plan is to award Vietnam pins to those who qualify to the American Legion members in New York State around the Albany, NY area. Dates are not firm but hope to start within a month and finish one year later.

The Post actively seeks out Vietnam Veterans and presents them their commemorative lapel pins. We need to replenish our supply. The "I Served" Stickers, fade rapidly in sunlight and we receive numerous requests for replacements.

VVA post 580 has started up our chapter again. We have serveral members that do not have a lapel pin. We also are getting new members and we would like to present each present

Hospice of Wichita Falls honors their veterans by giving the veteran or family a certificate that states we honor and thank them for their services. We also give out a quilt to each veteran who we are in contact with. Hospice of Wichita Falls is a facility to take care of patients who are passing and one way that we like to give back is by giving them a certificate and blanket. We would like to give our Vietnam Veterans a lapel pin too. We are seeing a growing increase in Vietnam veterans and would like to add the lapel pins as a way to give back to our community and veterans.

This is for our Navy in Vietnam exhibit, which will be opening in October 2019. We would like to have Vietnam commemoration pins on hand for Vietnam veterans who come through our museum. We've been handing them out for more than a year now and have reached a large number of Vietnam veterans with the lapel pins.

We honor veterans admitted to hospice services with a personalized ceremony. Veterans receive a certificate, and blanket specific to their branch of service, and a commemorative coin. Vietnam veterans will be honored with a lapel pin.

To provide Congresswoman DelBene the opportunity to pin Vietnam Veterans on a continuous basis while she is in the district.

Awareness for all, about the Vietnam War, educate on benefits, show appreciation and provide recognition. Work on rebuilding a relationship with those that have suffered in Vietnam as well as the return home. Then work on connected them to organizations and events. To established their earned benefits.

This office attend 2 job fairs annually, 5 Service Organizations monthly meetings, Veterans come to the office on a daily basis and my being a Vietnam as well, it give me a good feeling to present these people with a pin and welcome them home, we also attend events in IA, annually as well and would like to have theses materials on hand to present to those veterans and say thank you.

As Clare County Veterans Service Director, I meet with Vietnam veterans regularly, and will present the applicable pins and certificates as they come to my office.

Honoring Vietnam veterans is the focus of the 2019-2020 State Project of the Michigan Society Children of the American (C.A.R.) Revolution. While waiting for our partnership application to be processed, we have "borrowed" supplies from the Ki-Ka-Ma-Sung C.A.R. Society. That supply of tin pins is almost exhausted. The brochures and surviving spouse pins are new to us. We will distribute these supplies to the general public at various events throughout the year and will order more as supplies run low. In particular, we would like a sufficient quantity of tin pins to hand out at the 4th of July parade, as well as to distribute to C.A.R. members from throughout the state (who will then disseminate the materials at commemorative events in their local communities) at our State meeting on July 6.

This is an on going chapter project. Daughters carry Lapel Pins with them, and are awarded to Veterans when visiting museum with their caps on. OR when we see them in public wearing caps.

we are not having an event but are in need of 200 Vietnam Veteran pins to hand out to the Vietnam Veteran clients that we see in our office each day. Program on the Vietnam War and the day to day of a common soldier and a tea (Light Lunch).

In Nov we will have a speaker on the Vietnam War and honor any veterans who come with pins. We will be honoring them via pins and a light lunch in May.

The pinning ceremony is conducted by military veterans and includes the national anthem, pledge of allegiance, pinning of the Vietnam veteran, pinning of the veteran's spouse when applicable, presentation of a certificate, and a final salute.

As a VSO I meet with veterans regularly, and I have given out most of my initial supply of 50 pins and certificates.

Reading of military history and to extend gratitude for service and recognition of all veterans in attendance and pinning of Vietnam War Era veterans.

The West Point Class of 1965 has lost 7 classmates this year. Of these 5 have been or will be interred at the West Point Cemetery, 1 at Arlington and 1 at Texas State Veterans Cemetery. The class wants to present Surviving Spouse Lapel pins to the widows of these classmates at internment or through a local classmate for those widows whose spouse is already interred. We would like to have a reserve of at least 10 additional pins for future widows of classmates

We have a VFW post near our meeting location and many of their members are Vietnam Veterans. We will arrange to meet with them or their leaders to identify these veterans and make sure they have been recognized. We also will recognize a chapter member who was a nurse during this period as well as family members of our chapter members.

The new President General has requested materials to provide to veterans and Surviving Spouses to Daughters that visit the DAR headquarters in Washington, D.C. She will also use them in her travels around the country.

We have already done many large- and small-scale presentations to veterans during the 2015-17 timeframe. However, from time to time we get one-off requests to provide a lapel pin and certificate and to make presentation to an individual veteran at retirement home, etc. We have been able to borrow a pin from other Partners in the past, but at this time we need to request our own supply of 5 veteran lapel pins. This will allow us to present lapel pin to 4 more veterans as the need arises (and to "pay back" someone we borrowed a pin from).

GENERAL MEETING BREAKFAST @ LUNCHEON

We greet the Vietnam Veterans, along with Veterans from other wars, on Fridays during the year. The Veterans meet at the food court at Costco in Brentwood, TN every Friday from 11:00 until about 1:00. There are usually between 40-50 Veterans there every week -- and many are Vietnam Veterans. Most of the Veterans attending wear hats depicting their branch of service and the related wars. Members of Travellers Rest Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, thank them for their service and present the Vietnam Veterans pins to those in attendance who qualify.

I see about 10 to 15 Vietnam Veterans a Month in my office plus I have a 4 events a year

During our wreath ceremony, in conjunction with Wreaths Across America, ALL living veterans are honored. Vietnam Veterans are presented commemmoratve pins in addition to WAA pins.

Our members are finding they come across many just 'on the ' street or in restaurants, other public venues and they want to be able to present them with a pin

This is an ongoing event until all 200 US Flags that were given in a grant to Come All Who Are Thirsty are exhausted.

All veterans in our care are honored with a veteran ceremony, which includes presenting of "American Pride" pin, a folded flag, a creed card, letters from the community, and if applicable a Vietnam veteran pin.

We see an average of 10 - 15 Veterans and/or Family Members a week that inquire about VA/State/Local Benefits. If the Veteran and/or Spouse meets the criteria our office will formally honor that Veteran and/or Spouse. We will have an ongoing display outlining the VRC for all to see to as they visit our off and the local VA Clinic located in our building.

We honor every Vietnam veteran that is admitted to our hospice program. We are a Level III Partner with the We Honor Veterans program with National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Each veteran is honored with a certificate, a flag pin, a service pin, an American flag and the Vietnam Commemorative pin (if appropriate) and Commemorative flyer. We invite the family of each veteran to be present at the pinning ceremony. The ceremonies are very private due to the nature of hospice care.

The Chapter goes to this mall where they have a room for vets to come in and sit and chat, we go there four times a month.we get to meet with a lot of Vietnam Vets,also family members

Lapel Pins to have on hand for the Congresswoman to present to those unable to attend official ceremonies. After partnering with North Country Honor Flight there were many more Vietnam Veterans who came forward but were unable to make the event. These will be presented to them in private ceremonies as they are able to make it to the office. We also had a widow of a veteran come to our office and we want to honor her as well.

As Level 4 partners with NHPCO and the Veterans Administration, Veterans on our hospice service are pinned, presented with a special certificate and thanked for serving our country by one of our Veteran Volunteers. Time is given for them to share their thoughts and experiences while in the military. Caregiver/Spouse is also thanked and presented with a pin for caring for our Veteran. Other family members are invited to attend and presented with family pins.

Various events throughout the year are scheduled to honor veterans and their families. We always ask about our Vietnam Veterans and welcome them home by providing them or their surviving spouses with the lapel pins

Throughout the year Suncoast Hospice|Empath Health coordinates individual pinning ceremonies where a veteran volunteer visits with a patient and recognizes them with a certificate and a lapel pin. The veterans we pin are served by Suncoast Hospice and therefore have a terminal or life-limiting illness making the timeliness of these visits imperative. We serve over 2200 veterans per year, a significant portion of which are Vietnam era. We also conduct pinning events in the community by partnering with local nursing homes, assisted living facilities, libraries, senior centers, and veteran service organizations.

Each day we have several Vietnam Veterans visit our museum. Our visitors come from across the country since we are centrally located in the Midwest. Every Vietnam Vet who visits our museum is presented with a NVMM Certificate of Honor by a senior staff member. We also want to present the Vietnam War lapel pins to further recognize and honor their service.

Our organization provides Veteran honoring services to hospice patients in their homes, nursing homes and hospitals.

While the VNA of NWI will be hosting numerous events to Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans, often times we receive Veterans on our hospice service who haven't had the opportunity to be Welcome Home appropriately. We would like to do Veteran Honoring when we receive a patient on our service. We provide a We Honor Veterans Certificate, a patriotic knitted blanket, and would like to provide the Vietnam lapel pin.

Vietnam Veterans come to our office to either file, or increase their percentage of disability. We make sure each one especially if they are new have a pin and documents from the DOD. It may take us all year to distribute all 200 pins but they are so appreciative and I am very Thankful to be a partner.

This is a very rural county. Veterans are, more often than not, recognized in small family gatherings in front of their family at their homes. Others are recognized during the last moments of their lives when we are contacted that they are on hospice, and they are recognized here in our office. Presentations are done in public as much as possible. In the past, presentations were at community functions, at County Board meetings, VSO events, etc.

The members of the Tenassee Chapter 3078 DAR, Confederate Gray Chapter 2681 UDC, in Partnership with the wives, families and loved ones of Vietnam Veterans Pledge to Present COMMEMORATIVE PARTNER LAPEL PINS to FIVE HUNDRED VIETNAM VETERANS in 2020. Through recognition and thanks for their service with a smile, hand shake, hug and Lapel Pin to every Vietnam veteran we meet. At the airports, food markets, on the street, in Public Parks and theaters. Wherever there is a woman or family member; associated with us, that is effective, supportive and thankful enough to recognize, thank and honor a Vietnam Veteran with a Lapel Pin. The Tenasse Chapter 3078, NSDAR in collaboration with the Confederate Gray Chapter 2681 UDC has collectively presented 1,500 Lapel Pins, Certificates, Window stickers, Tin badges, Tri-fold brochures, Handshakes and Hugs to 1,500 Veterans since our first event in January of 2017. Our GOAL is to have reached out to 2000 by 2020!

Our Operation Thank You Vietnam Veteran Project is to pass out pins and stickers to our Agua Fria Chapter Daughters. Each Daughter will then honor a Vietnam Veteran and give the items to a Vietnam Veteran. Each member will share her story of their Veteran and get a photo of Daughter and Veteran.

I consistently honor our Vietnam Veterans and present them with pins acknowledging their service to our country. Many times its one person at a time as they come in. I have spoke at Legions and VFW's inviting Veterans to come to my office and get recognized. As far as the stickers I am out of as I let the folks help themselves. It is my intention to order more in the future. I also keep the proclamation visible in my office.

The presentations in the office, as veterans, come tend to be very personal. When respectfully and sincerely presented, many veterans break down in tears. They get very emotional. It is these veterans, more so than any of the others, that go back out into the community and tell others about it.

The project was an extraordinary success as students, in cooperation with faculty and national and local veterans' organizations, worked collaboratively to bring the Moving Wall to Ponaganset and serve as visitor guides. Students, parents and community leaders assisted visitors finding names, making rubbings, answering questions about the Vietnam Memorial and the experience. In the weeks prior to the Wall's arrival students conducted historical research, constructed the foundation and developed an extraordinary museum that focused on the Vietnam War. It boasted a large collection of uniforms, letters and artifacts along with 42 panels each exploring a specific episode of Ken Burn's film, The Vietnam War. The Moving Wall itself attracted thousands of residents, veterans and inquisitive visitors to the site. What worked best is that students learned given they were truly engaged in the topic. This project met the two overarching objectives - 1) hosting the Moving Wall and 2) developing an archive of oral histories. The project provided students with an opportunity to explore, debate, discuss, examine, defend, and experiment with concepts and skills they are learning. This multidisciplinary project provided an extraordinary opportunity to deliver in-depth instruction, inspire young minds to become enthusiastic learners, and united the larger community in a single endeavor. One fascinating task that resulted from the project was breaking students into small groups to write, produce and record the radio commercials that aired between August 29th and November 4th, 2018. This resulted in not only creating a hallmark publicity campaign but afforded them the opportunity to work with professionals in the marketing, sales and radio industry. The materials and manufacturing class designed and fabricated an large steel cauldron with the POW / MIA logo that was floated in the pond adjacent to the high school - the "Flames of Freedom".

At 2 Separate times pins were given to 2 different veterans i only see occasionally. I had thought they were veterans but i had to ask; (i had carried the pins with me for when i saw either of them again) i pinned each as honorably and as ceremoniously as possible in the store (a feed mill)

Over halfway thru the year 2020 and have had to revent myself in ways to do the job. All veterans are honored shortly after admission to Stein Hospice Services. All are presented with a certificate of appreciation, a fleece blanket with the military service branch emblem and a We Honor Veterans lapel pin. Vietnam War veterans are also pinned with the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration Lapel Pin along with giving the veteran both Presidential Proclamations, VVLP Fact Sheet, "I Served" sticker and Family Member pins. With the advent of the Pandemic we are not entering the home or facility any longer and have been forced to present our tributes at the door for family or staff to present to the veteran.

The Jean Marie Cardinell Chapter, DAR, continues to honor our Vietnam Veterans and their families throughout Iowa. Our goal is to recognize them in a safe manner. Whether it is one-on-one or in small groups, the meaning and honor is the same. Over the course of the year, we were able to present this pin to nineteen of our patients who were Vietnam Veterans - most with family either present in the room or via Zoom. Some were with Quilt of Valor Foundation. All were deeply appreciated.

Since our organization honors Veterans who are at the end of life, we perform private presentations wherever they call home to acknowledge their service and sacrifices. We present Vietnam Veterans with items such as certificates, quilts of honor, personalized letters, and miniature US flags, in addition to the items provided by the 50th Anniversary Commission. We also officially welcome them home and provide space for them to share their experiences. When able to, we have hospice volunteers who are also Veterans perform these ceremonies, but the majority were performed by clinical staff in 2020 due to the pandemic.
