The parade will be celebrating its 48th year and has been designated by the National Veterans Day Committee and the US Department of Defense as one of the few Regional Sites for Veterans Day Observance. The days starts with a Veterans Remembrance and Lighting of the Flame at Veterans Memorial Park. Along the parade route static displays and military exhibits are showcased. Later in the afternoon marching bands will compete in Washington State’s largest marching band competition—this year will be its 47th year. As a Vietnam War Commemoration Partner, the City of Auburn will dedicate part of its parade to honor Vietnam Veterans.
