DATE: Sunday, NOVEMBER 11th, 2012, Starting @ 0800hrs with free breakfast for Veterans. Veterans of Vietnam will be issued a special challenge coin, along with materials requested including Proclamation signed by the President Barack Obama.
PLACE: ROSCOE VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK and MUSEUM: located on Old Rte 17 and Stewart Ave., Roscoe, NY 12776 ( Just completed the Monuments and Bricks-Pavers which were used to raise money for Vietnam Monuments made of same material as the Wall that Heals in Washington DC.)
EVENT ACTIVITIES: Complimentary Breakfast to all Veterans, Vietnam Veterans will receive extra materials (see above) from 0600hrs to 0900hrs.
SEMINAR ON HISTORY OF RVN- (POWER POINT), along with technical advances in military equipment, Medical Trauma advances which are still in use today, Helicopter Evacuation, Tactics now used by Law Enforcement etc. Seminar given by Ex Copter Pilot, Ex Medic assigned to 101st ABN.and myself.
FLAG RAISING along with POW-MIA FLAG, INNVOCATION, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, SINGING OF NATIONAL ANTHEM, and CONCLUDED WITH TAPS after reading of names of those who did not return from the country.
Main theme is to recognize the sacrifices and contributions made by the men and women who served in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
