    The Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee and the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Committee of Los Angeles are hosting the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Veterans Commemoration Event in Los Angeles from August 25th-28th, 2011. This special event will: (1) honor the service and sacrifice of Korean War veterans, (2) commemorate key events of the war, and (3) educate people of all backgrounds about the historical significance of the Korean War, also known as "The Forgotten Victory." Based at the JW Marriott Hotel LA Live, this high-profile, four day commemoration event will feature the following sponsored events: memorial ceremony at the LA National Cemetery; VIP cruise on the historic S.S. Lane Victory; cultural exhibitions, including art exhibitions and musical performances, at the Korean Bell of Friendship Pavilion; private event and game viewing at L.A. Dodgers Stadium; VIP speeches; VIP banquet and awards ceremony; reunion events; and more. Guests include, but are not limited to, the following: Korean War veterans from America, the Republic of Korea, and allied forces; DOD officials; international, national, and local dignitaries; academia; community leaders; and many others.
