Illinois Veterans & Community Classroom Project

The Illinois Veterans & Community Classroom Project was created by the WWII Illinois Veterans Memorial Board with the objective to produce oral history interviews and preserve digital stories of the men and women who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and other military conflicts.  The program is a collaborative effort with Illinois school districts, universities, and community-based organizations to collect local historic resources such as photographs, books, manuscripts, maps, posters, audio recordings, videos, and many other historical documents.  The images below showcase various student projects from the Harlem Veteran Project and the O’Fallon Township High School in Illinois.  Photos courtesy of the Harlem Veteran Project and O’Fallon Township High School, unless otherwise noted.
