FORT CARSON, Colo. — Hubert Nicholson, a retired Army sergeant major who served in Vietnam from 1968-69 and 1971-72, picks up a Vietnam Veteran pin March 29, 2021, as Nina Hughes, an operations squad member with Army and Air Force Exchange Service; and Scot Muzzy, operations manager, Exchange, greet veterans at the Fort Carson Main Exchange. The veteran recognition was part of the National Vietnam War Veterans Day. In addition to the pins, copies of the proclamation on the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam war signed by former President Barack Obama were available and handouts that describe the purpose and symbolism of the Vietnam Veteran lapel pin. This is the third year that the Exchange has recognized Vietnam veterans on this day. Nicholson said it’s good to see that Vietnam veterans are not forgotten.
