Larry Ellis

Larry Ellis is the Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta Georgia based VetConnexx, a company that provides career opportunities for veterans.  After retiring from the United States Army, he joined the Board of Directors of Point Blank Solutions where he later served as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Currently, he serves as a Commissioner on the American Battle Monuments Commission, a director on the Board of the Armed Forces Benefit Association and the Board of Regents for Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.

During an Army career that spanned over 35 years, Larry Ellis spent nearly half his service overseas. Before retiring as the Commanding General of US Army Forces Command, he served in senior positions across the Department of Defense.  His staff positions include assignment as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Plans and Training at the Pentagon, the Assistant Chief of Staff, C3/J3/G3, United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/U.S. Forces Korea/Eighth U.S. Army in South Korea, and the Deputy Director for Strategic Planning and Policy at the US Pacific Command in Hawaii.

His command assignments include Company Commander, 101st Airborne Division, Vietnam and 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Battalion Commander, 5th Infantry Division, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Brigade Commander, 3rd Infantry Division, Germany; Assistant Division Commander, 2nd Infantry Division, South Korea; 1st Armored Division Commander, Germany and Multinational Division (North) Commander, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Larry Ellis earned an undergraduate degree from Morgan State University and a graduate degree from Indiana University. His honors include an Honorary Doctor of Laws, Honorary Master of Strategic Studies, the Indiana University Distinguished Alumni Service Award, the Morgan State University Distinguished Alumni Award, the NAACP National Service Award, the ROCK of the Year Award and the Outstanding Role Model of the Year Award.
